” Kate Bogma is an accomplished competitive debater with a diverse international experience that spans Western and Eastern Europe, Asia, and her native Russia. With an impressive track record of six years in the debating circuit, both as a speaker and adjudicator, and a passion for coaching, Kate is poised to inspire and mentor the next generation of debaters.

Kate’s journey in debating began during her pursuit of a Journalism degree at Moscow State University, which encouraged her to actively engage in international debate events both as a speaker and judge. Her expertise as an Independent Adjudicator at such competitions as the European Universities Debating Championship (EUDC), Oxford IV, and Beijing Debate Challenge provided her with invaluable experience evaluating and learning from some of the best teams in Europe and Asia. Additionally, her experience as a Chief and Deputy Chief Adjudicator at several tournaments has honed her skills in designing thought-provoking motions, managing and coaching adjudication teams, and ensuring the excellence of the tournaments.

As a speaker, Kate achieved finals and semi-finals of numerous tournaments, including Moscow Open, Kyiv Open, McKinsey Debate Cup, Tallinn Tech Open, and others. She also had experience speaking at tournaments such as the EUDC and Cambridge IV. As a coach, Kate has always remained deeply committed to nurturing and empowering aspiring debaters, having contributed to the development of young speakers at her university club. She also coached school kids at the International Debate Academy in Moscow, where she conducted comprehensive debate classes and contributed to the growth of young talents from all over the country.

Beyond the debating realm, Kate has acquired extensive professional experience, working in various industries, international companies, and teams, where she honed her negotiation, presentation, pitching, and interview skills. This exposure has equipped her with a unique perspective on the real-world applications of debate and speech skills, which she is passionate about sharing with future professionals.
