“Kevin Sprague is a dedicated educator with more than a decade’s experience teaching students of all ages. In particular, he has a passion for teaching writing, public speaking, and debate because the learning experience creates many opportunities to question ourselves, learn from each other, and have fun. He teaches journalistic writing, creative writing, and academic writing in a variety of contexts. By using a process-based approach, students learn to harness their critical and creative thinking to develop their own ideas through a text.

He obtained his Master’s in Applied Linguistics and Language Teaching from Pennsylvania State University and then served as an Education Specialist for several years with a US Department of State program, where he had the opportunity to travel across China and Asia sharing interactive teaching techniques. His focus is on using communicative and task-based learning techniques to challenge and empower students in the classroom. When he isn’t teaching, he is a passionate language learner and speaks Chinese and Spanish. “
